Right food, lifestyle help reduce obesity
KANPUR: City doctors cautioned denizens about the harmful effects of obesity on the World Obesity Day on Wednesday. Obesity being one of the biggest and widespread disease of the world, TOI spoke to several health specialists and physicians in order to kill the myths related to obesity.
Obesity is a condition characterised by high levels of body fat. Though one can probably be able to manage a certain amount of excessive fat for sometime, but if the fat level keep on increasing, it is a serious risk factor for different diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes and a variety of other serious illnesses.
“Fortunately, physical exercises combined with a balanced nutritious diet and lifestyle modifications can provide positive results in a battle against the bulge. As obesity also leads to various other physical ailments like orthopaedic and skin problems,” said Devendra Swaroop, a fitness expert.
